Built & Cited ("Built & Cited," "we," "us," or "our") operates this website and provides web and marketing services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. By using this website or contacting us, you agree to the practices described here.
Who We Are
Built & Cited is a web and marketing studio based in the Lake Norman and Greater Charlotte area of North Carolina, United States. You can reach us at hello@builtandcited.com for any question about this policy or your information.
Information We Collect
We collect information you give us directly. When you book a discovery call, send us an email, or submit information through our scheduling tool, you typically provide your name, email address, and details about your business and what you are looking for. We only collect what you choose to share with us.
We also collect a limited amount of standard technical information automatically when you visit the site, such as general location, browser and device type, and which pages you viewed. This is basic web analytics used to understand how the site is performing. We do not currently use advertising trackers or third-party marketing pixels on this site. If that changes, we will update this policy before doing so.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to respond to your inquiry, schedule and conduct discovery calls, prepare proposals, deliver our services, and communicate with you about your project. We use the limited technical information to maintain and improve the website.
Email Communications and Marketing
When you contact us or book a call, we may use your email address to follow up about your inquiry and your project. We may also, now or in the future, send occasional marketing emails such as a newsletter, updates, or relevant content. Every marketing email we send will include a clear way to unsubscribe, and you can opt out at any time by using that link or by emailing hello@builtandcited.com. Opting out of marketing email does not affect direct communication about a project or service you have engaged us for.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade it. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, such as our scheduling tool, email provider, and website host, and only to the extent they need it to provide those services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
Cookies and Analytics
The site may use cookies or similar technologies to function properly and to support basic analytics. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect how some parts of the site work.
Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry, deliver services, and meet legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations. When we no longer need it, we delete it or remove identifying details. You may request deletion of your information at any time, subject to obligations that require us to retain certain records.
Your Choices and Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@builtandcited.com. You may also opt out of marketing email at any time. We will respond to reasonable requests within a reasonable timeframe. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law, and we will honor those that apply to you.
International Visitors
Built & Cited is based in the United States and our services are operated from the United States. If you contact us or use this site from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed and stored in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By providing your information, you consent to that processing. If we begin working with clients in jurisdictions with specific data protection regimes, we will provide any additional terms required for those engagements.
Children's Privacy
This site and our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our practices or the law change. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
